Data Quality Assurance
Angola X maintains rigorous data quality standards:
- Source verification: All data points are cross-referenced against primary sources before publication
- Timestamping: Every data point includes the source date and the date of last verification
- Discrepancy resolution: When sources conflict, Angola X applies a hierarchy (primary official source takes precedence over secondary sources)
- Lag disclosure: Where data has a publication lag (common for macroeconomic indicators), the reference period is clearly stated
- Revision tracking: When official sources revise previously published data, Angola X updates its records and notes the revision
Methodology Notes
- Market capitalization: Calculated as last traded price multiplied by total shares outstanding. USD equivalent uses the BNA reference rate.
- Inflation: Consumer price index (IPC) as published by INE, year-over-year change
- GDP: IMF estimates used for annual figures; INE quarterly data for sub-annual analysis
- FX reserves: BNA published gross international reserves
Limitations
- Some Angolan data series have limited historical depth due to the relatively recent establishment of market infrastructure
- Reporting lags for certain macroeconomic indicators may be longer than in developed markets
- BODIVA trading data may not capture all market activity if any transactions occur outside the exchange
